Carolyn Holness
Group Training Manager, LINX Cargo Care Group
Carolyn Holness is a woman of many talents, working in many different industries before entering the supply chain with a job at LINX Cargo Care. Holness began her career in retail with a Certificate IV in Small Business Management, when a case of mistaken identity secured her an interview for a Small Business Traineeship. This gave her the basic fundamentals of business before she moved to a receptionist role for a large cold storage company. After working her way up to Safety and Quality Manager, she moved to the UK and worked as a travel agent. This was her first foray in to training as she quickly moved from an agent to the training department.
When she returned to Australia, Carolyn worked as an RTO administrator and trainer before becoming a small business owner, she learnt valuable skills such as how to manage people, how to take risks and be prepared to fail. A decade later, looking for a change, she took a temporary job as a receptionist with a “company she had never heard of” while she worked out next steps. Fast forward six years and Carolyn is still there, now the Group Training Manager for the LINX Cargo Care group. Transitioning through the roles of Training Coordinator, re-training with a Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety and Certificate in Safety Management and Quality Systems Auditing, before taking on the role of VIC Safety Advisor, she finally landed her dream role of Group Training Manager which enabled her to combine her passion for training, safety, business and people in a constantly evolving industry.
